MAY 3, 2008, Saturday, Stamford - Stamford Museum & Nature Center' 5th Annual "Model Ts to Mustangs" Antique and Classic Car Show, 11am to 3pm; awards ceremony at 2:45pm. "...The museum seeks to display cars manufactured between 1900 and 1979. An added feature this year will be a special section showcasing Packard automobiles (1899 - 1958). Applications may be submitted at any time but no later than Friday, April 11, 2008. Packard exhibitors are encouraged to apply early. Admitted participants will be notified no later than April 18. Priority will be given to cars that have not been shown in the last two editions of Model Ts to Mustangs...Proceeds from the show will benefit the Museum's arts education and gallery initiatives. A $15 contribution per participant will be collected at the gate. Participant benefits include two free admissions to the entire facility and two lunch coupons. Applications can be downloaded from the Museum's web site, www.stamfordmuseum.org . They may be submitted by mail, fax, or e-mail, but must include at least one photograph. MAY 4, 2008, Sunday, Bristol - Connecticut Street Rod Association's "39th Annual Spring All-Automotive Swap Meet" at the Lake Compounce Theme Park parking lot (parking lot is open for swap meet only--theme park is not open), 6am to 3pm, rain or shine; I-84 to Exit 31, north on Route 229, follow signs. Saturday set-ups ok, no overnight stays, secure & lit. Antique, street rod, classic, racing, special interest, cars, trucks, and parts, used speed parts, tools, collectibles, toys. Spectators $10; vendors $40 (vehicles over length/over width charged for additional spots. Notice: CSRA not responsible for any/all vendor transactions. No pets allowed. MAY 10, 2008, Saturday, Westbrook - The Morgan School "Lucky 13th Annual Car Show" at the Tanger Outlet Center, Westbrook, CT (Exit 65 off of I-95, and follow the signs). 10am-2pm. Rain date = Saturday, May 17th, 2008 (downpour only; postponement info, call Laura at 860-391-2718). Trophies will be awarded-judging done by the students. Dash plaques will be given to the first 100 vehicles to register. Donations of non-perishable food items will be accepted at this event and donated to a local soup kitchen. No burnouts in the parking lot or access road please! This event is free to all spectators, and a $5 entry fee for all show cars. This event is organized by The Transportation Technology Students of The Morgan School, Clinton, CT; instructor: jcole@clintonpublic.org .
